What Is the Prospect HQ Ambassador Program? Everything You Need to Know

You know that feeling when you find something that actually gets the athlete experience and you immediately want to tell everyone on your team about it? That's kind of the whole idea behind the Prospect HQ student-athlete ambassador program.
The transition out of sport is hard. Most of us go through it without nearly enough support, and the people who understand it best are other athletes who've been there. This program puts those athletes front and center: current college athletes helping other college athletes find their footing.
If that's you, keep reading.
What Is the Prospect HQ Ambassador Program?
It's a program for current student-athletes who want to do more than use a platform. They want to help build it.
As an Ambassador, you show up as yourself. You share your real experience, bring your teammates into a community that actually understands their world, and have a say in how Prospect HQ grows. You're not a spokesperson reading talking points. You're an athlete talking to other athletes, and that's what makes it work.
What Do Ambassadors Actually Do?
The commitment is real but manageable. Here's what it looks like month to month:
Make short-form videos. You'll create 4–5 videos each month. A day in the life. What the transition out of sport actually feels like. The moment you started thinking seriously about what comes next. No scripts, no production value required. Your perspective is what people want to see.
Help athletes find the community. You'll put together low-key sign-up drives with teammates and friends. Think team meetings, lift sessions, film rooms, group chats, or tabling on campus. You're not selling anything. You're just pointing people toward something you already believe in.
Take on monthly challenge weeks. Each month there's a new challenge: most referrals, most inspiring video, most creative prompt answer. It's friendly competition with real prizes, and the whole community gets involved. Honestly, it's one of the better parts of the gig.
Shape what gets built. Every month, Ambassadors vote on new features, prompts, and ideas. The team actually listens. If something's not working or something's missing, you have a direct line to say so. That kind of access matters.
You'll also share Prospect HQ content on your social channels when it feels relevant, and you'll sign the Ambassador Agreement when you join so everything's clear upfront.
Who Is This Program For?
You don't need a big following. You don't need to be a content pro or a natural networker.
The Prospect HQ student-athlete ambassador program is for athletes who are currently competing, active on social media, and genuinely care about their teammates and the broader athlete community. Specifically, people who:
- Are the connector on their team. The one rallying the group chat and making sure people actually show up.
- Don't mind being on camera. You don't have to be polished, just real.
- Care about helping athletes get through the transition out of sport. Because you know how hard it is and you want to be the person you wish you'd had.
- Follow through. You do what you say you're going to do, and you show up consistently.
Ambassadors come from all different sports, schools, and backgrounds. The common thread is that they're invested in something bigger than their own experience.
What Do You Get Out of It?
You'll earn prizes and bonus incentives through the monthly challenges. You'll build real content creation skills and a body of work that lives beyond your playing career. You'll be connected to a national group of athletes who are serious about their futures and looking out for each other.
You can also add the Ambassador role to your LinkedIn and Prospect HQ profile. That matters more than it might sound. Early-career experience is hard to come by as a student-athlete, and this is the real thing: content creation, community building, and brand representation. It belongs on your resume.
What that looks like on paper
Here's how Ambassadors typically describe the role when they list it:
- Create 4–5 short-form videos per month for a national student-athlete platform, covering career development and athlete transition topics
- Organized on-campus sign-up drives and referral campaigns, recruiting student-athletes across team meetings, lift groups, and campus events
- Represented Prospect HQ to peers, coaches, and campus organizations as a brand ambassador
- Contributed to monthly product feedback sessions, helping shape platform features and content direction
- Competed in monthly performance challenges focused on community growth, content quality, and creative storytelling
And you'll have a hand in building a platform that's actually designed for athletes like you. Your feedback shapes what gets built next. That's not a throwaway line.
